Invitation for cooperation in the field of food research

WANTED: Start-ups or companies producing mycoproteins through submerged cultures of basidiomycetes on agricultural or food industry side streams.

03/2022

For the implementation of the research project “Comparative characterization and toxicological evaluation of submerged cultivated edible mushroom mycelia as sustainably produced foods of the future and the corresponding fruiting bodies“ at the Justus Liebig University of Giessen, directed by Prof. Dr. Gertrud E. Morlock and Prof. Dr. Holger Zorn, the Adalbert-Raps-Foundation is looking for cooperation partners.

Great potential of edible mushrooms

Edible mushroom mycelia have great potential as sustainable and healthy food proteins. Fruiting bodies of edible mushrooms are classified as safe food, but mycelia are subject to the Novel Food Regulation. Within the research project“ Comparative characterization and toxicological evaluation of submerged cultivated edible mushroom mycelia as sustainably produced foods of the future and the corresponding fruiting bodies“ at the Justus Liebig University of Giessen, directed by Prof. Dr. Gertrud E. Morlock and Prof. Dr. Holger Zorn, we are looking for scientific findings that will simplify the legal approval of products made from edible mushroom mycelia in future.

For this reason, we are looking for YOU!
